<p>The first event entitled; ‘<strong>Supercharge your video strategy’</strong>, will be taking place on 22 September in Jersey.</p>
<p>Online video is one of the fastest growing marketing channels and one of the islands leading video production experts, Phil Bouchard of 3C International will be discussing how to get the most out of your video strategy.</p>
<p>Talking of the event Mr. Bouchard said, “quite often businesses do not establish a clear video strategy, they simply measure video views as a basis for success.  This does not drive new business or long-term brand value. At this event I will explore how to go about planning video, setting meaningful metrics and most importantly how video can drive new business”.</p>
<p>The chairman of the CIM Channel Islands Branch Steve Cartwright added “we are delighted to be able to run these marketing genius events this autumn to support local businesses and marketers, in order to keep our members up-to-date with current marketing techniques and trends. In this very competitive market place whether you are a sole trader or multi-national organisation, successfully marketing your business is key to success.”</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>After listening to feedback, the organisers of the 2015 Channel Islands Marketing Awards and the Jersey Opera House have taken the decision to move this year’s event to an alternative venue &#8211; The Royal Yacht Hotel.</p>

<p>“Working collaboratively with the Jersey Opera House, it became clear that we needed to be able to provide seated hospitality opportunities for our guests. We are delighted that The Royal Yacht Hotel has been able to help us achieve this within the recently refurbished Drift; an equally elegant venue that will allow us to bring to life the Luminosity theme and cater perfectly for both the Awards Ceremony and exclusive After Party. It is hugely important to us that we provide an awards event that meets the needs of the Channel Islands marketing community and we are committed to do all we can to achieve this.</p>
<p>Taking place on Friday 20 March 2015, the pan-Channel Islands Awards will remain a black-tie awards ceremony hosted by ITV news and sport presenter Murray Dron with a Champagne Reception and delicious food served throughout the evening.</p>

This senior management role, reporting directly to the Chief Executive, will be responsible for developing and implementing a marketing strategy which will deliver against agreed goals, working in partnership with Jersey’s tourism industry and government departments on all aspects of the development and promotion of the Island as a destination.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 13.5pt; color: black;">Applicants will demonstrate extensive experience of marketing and promotion, will be able to champion tourism and be a strategic thinker who understands the public/private sector partnership marketing and digital potential. While tourism and/or closely related sector experience would be useful applicants must be able to demonstrate a strong track record of maximising investment in marketing spend and be able to motivate a team to deliver consistently highly. They will have the presence and stature to be ambassadors for Jersey as a destination and inspire the world to visit, explore and fall in love with Jersey and have the resilience to operate in a high profile public interest organisation during a period of change.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 13.5pt; color: black;">Most importantly they will be creative, resourceful and savvy in maximising the reach and effectiveness of the marketing budget and have a passion for tourism and for Jersey’s offer to visitors. Great communication skills with the ability to relate at all levels will be essential as will the ability to build and maintain mutually beneficial, productive relationships in the public and private sectors.</span></p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>With just over a week to go until entries close for the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s (CIM) ‘2015 Channel Islands Marketing Awards’, the venue for this year’s Awards ceremony has been announced.</p>
<p>In a new format for the inaugural pan-Channel Islands Awards, the black tie ceremony will take place at the Jersey Opera House on 20 March 2015. With a theme of ‘Luminosity’, the event will feature an ‘Oscars’ style awards ceremony, followed by a non-seated, deconstructed dining experience with a difference, and an after-party with guest DJ.</p>
<p>Entries for the Awards are currently open through the online entry portal at <a href="http://www.entercimawards.com">www.entercimawards.com</a>, and will close at midnight on Friday 20 February 2015. There is no cost to entering and the format for submitting entries has been made easier than ever to enter, with entrants being asked to submit concise statistical information to reinforce their achievements and why their campaign was so successful.</p>
<p>Winners will be selected by a high calibre panel of judges, including Bronagh Hunt, Global Marketing Manager for Sailor Jerry; Sarah Pinch, President of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR); and Suzanne Cole, Director of Best of Wales and a Senior Lecturer in Marketing. There are ten award categories including the new ‘Marketing Team of the Year’ Award and the overall ‘Marketing Excellence’ Award, which for the first time ever the audience will be able to vote for on the night.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>Submissions for the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s (CIM) ‘2015 Channel Islands Marketing Awards’ are being accepted, courtesy of the launch of a brand new online Awards entry portal.</div>

<p>Entries for the Awards is via a brand new online entry portal at <a href="http://www.entercimawards.com/" target="_blank" data-cke-saved-href="http://www.entercimawards.com/">www.entercimawards.com</a>, enabling submissions to be made swiftly and conveniently. The format for submitting entries has also been simplified to make it easier than ever to enter. Entrants will be asked to submit statistical information to reinforce their achievements and why their campaign was so successful. There is no cost to entering and the closing date for submissions is 20 February 2015.</p>

<p>The Awards event, which will take place on 20 March 2015 in Jersey, will include ten award categories including ‘Best Brand Campaign’, ‘Best Use of PR’, ‘Marketing Team of the Year’, ‘Student Marketer of the Year’, and the much sought after ‘Overall Marketing Excellence Award’.</p>
<p>At the same time, the CIM has also announced a high calibre line-up for its panel of judges, which includes Bronagh Hunt, Global Marketing Manager for Sailor Jerry; Sarah Pinch, President of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR); and Suzanne Cole, Director of Best of Wales and a Senior Lecturer in Marketing.</p>
<p>Earlier this month, the CIM announced that this year for the first time it would be welcoming entries from all Channel Islands-based marketers and organisations, with a view to celebrating excellence in marketing across all Channel Islands industries at both an organisational and individual level.</p>
<p>Steve Cartwright, Chairman of the Channel Islands CIM Branch, said:</p>
<p>“Our approach this year has been to make the Awards as accessible as possible for marketing professionals in Guernsey and Jersey, which is why we’ve rolled out a new, much more streamlined online entry submission facility through our website. We hope this new, easy to use entry process will encourage marketers, business developers and communications specialists across the marketing community to show the high quality of their work and get the acknowledgement they deserve as we recognise marketing excellence, creativity and innovation across the Islands.</p>
<p>“I am also delighted that, in the inaugural year of our new-look Channel Islands Marketing Awards, we have been able to assemble a panel of judges of such a high calibre and with such a broad range of marketing and communications experience between them. Of course, we are very grateful to our sponsors and partners, without whose support the Awards simply wouldn’t be possible. These include The Beach Communication, Delta Production Services, PBS Media, Jersey Evening Post and Guernsey Press, CIPR Channel Islands, Gallery Magazine, and a special thank you for our new entry portal to Switch Digital.”</p>

<p><strong>Qualifications and experience</strong></p>
<p>The ideal candidate would hold a marketing degree or appropriate qualification like the CIM Diploma in Professional</p>
<p>Marketing, a major or experience in digital and new media marketing would be an advantage. Experience would be a benefit but not essential as this is an entry level marketing position, providing the candidate had an appropriate marketing qualification. Candidates should be familiar with Microsoft Office products in particular Excel spreadsheets.</p>
<p>A basic understanding of XML based applications and HTML programming would be a benefit.</p>
